Finally, it's done, & now it's FOPL Sundays!

Work being completed
on parking lot expansion
We've reached a milestone - the work is finally done on the "south acre" of our property!

The land was re-leveled and is now a handsomely designed and gravel-covered extension to our parking lot.  After more than a year (?) of use for Arizona Department of Transportation's rejuvination of the highway, we can now look forward to peace and quiet once again.

And in celebration of the work being finished, we'll have a two-fold celebration on Sunday, October 17.  First is our patronal feast, and second is the first celebration of FOPL Sunday.

What, pray tell, is FOPL Sunday, and why should we celebrate it?  FOPL stands for "fill our parking lot," and since our capacity has been expanded to a considerable degree by this new addition, it stands to reason that we can now invite more folk to come to church on Sundays - remembering, of course, that 90+% of folk who attend church were brought into and invited by others who were attending a church!!

So, now we've a new evangelistic endeavor to begin: the 3rd Sunday of each month is hereby designated as FOPL Sunday...  the day we invite our friends to Mass!

Can we do it?  Is it possible?  You bet, and remember: the church is only as good in its outreach ministry as you are in your participation and commitment to our Lord's declaration - All things are possible to him that believeth!

Therefore, let's help FOPL on our patronal feast on Sunday, October 17th -  Invite your friends to both the morning masses and the afternoon Jazz at the Church Jam Session. You will not only make them happy (who's not happy that worships at Saint Luke's?) but God will be glorified, also!
