Sunday's Mass Propers (18 Trinity)

When someone looks into your eyes, what do they see? The love of God?  Have you ever known someone with "emptiness" so strong that their eyes spoke volumes of the turmoil, tribulation and temptation they experience?

The propers for the 18th Sunday after Trinity speak of the "temptations of the world, the flesh, and the devil," but go much further than a mere declaration of the difficulties faced by man while living in this world.

In fact, we're both "boosted up" in the Faith and given the cure for man's malady.  In preparation for attending mass on Sunday, think on these things which affect us all, so that we might be able to, as the collect puts it, "withstand" all that we must face in this world.

Sunday's mass propers are found in the right column of this blog.
