What's happening this week?

As always, we continue doing the Lord's work in His Place - our parish.  With the arrival of 2011, we certainly have exciting things in our future, and  here's a thumbnail picture of the news for the first week of the new year...

1.  A Brand New Ministry Begins in 2011!
For the last three years we've been preparing our ministry for more involvement with the internet, and this month a large step in this effort is being taken: live streaming of our masses and concerts will begin on the last Sunday of this month, January 30.  Watch the video contained HERE for more information, and keep this endeavor in your prayers.

2.  What's up tomorrow - the First Sunday after the Epiphany?
-  Food Ingathering Sunday Click HERE for more information, and remember to bring your contribution with you when you come to mass.

- Sunday's mass propers are found HERE, and they address issues inherent with life in it's fullest.   The epistle speaks of our "reasonable service" to God, and the Gospel tells of the youth of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Both are given to us with the prayer that we may perceive and know what things we ought to do in life, AND have the grace and power to fulfil our obligations.  And, you know what?  We do!

In your preparations for attendance think on what you are willing to do for God's greater glory in your life, and also what things stop you from doing those endeavors.

And here's a peek at the rest of January, which we'll address in the coming weekly e-newsletters...

-Sunday, January 13, 2 Epiphany  is "bring a friend to Church" Sunday...
Sunday, January 23, 3 Epiphany is "Gathering Sunday" - the day we ask all parishioners from the North (Flagstaff, et al) and the South (Phoenix, Glendale, et al)  to come to Mass and meet one another...
Sunday January 30, 4 Epiphany is the first streaming Mass at eight o'clock in the morning and also the Jazz Concert & Jam Session at one o'clock in the afternoon.  Start thinking about that friend that you'll ask to mass and the concert...

Whether we realize it or not, on a daily basis and on our really GOOD days, we KNOW that God's blessed us profoundly.  Come to His House and give Him thanks!
